During the half time challenge of the basketball
game between the College of the Ozarks and Bellevue last Saturday, a 54 year
old, blind and mentally impaired man from Springfield, Michael Quinn sent the
crowd into excitement when he hits a 3-point shot on the field. Quinn has been
selected out the crowd to shoot a three-point shot for a year’s worth of
McDonald’s value meal. The crowd witness this awesome moment and gave him a
standing ovation.
Michael Quinn attended the game with a group
called Champion Athletes of Ozarks, which helps disabled person to participate
in curricular activities such as sports. Quinn undergo a series of falls
starting six years ago and causing him to be blind in 2010 and lose much of his
mental capacity.
Michael Quinn can now enjoy all the early
morning coffee he wants for free over the next 365 days.
